Leatt Corp: Ensuring Safe, Reliable SAP Business One Integration

Leatt Corp designs, develops, and distributes award‑winning protective gear for sports. Born from a project to improve motorcycle rider safety, the company now sells a global range of products including helmets, braces, and protective apparel.

The Challenge

Expanding Online Sales While Maintaining Data Accuracy

To grow in North America, Leatt launched the NuORDER e‑commerce portal. To succeed, NuORDER had to integrate tightly with SAP Business One so that orders, stock levels, pricing, and customer data were always synchronized.

Key requirements:

  • Real‑time accuracy of orders and customer data
  • Hourly inventory updates between SAP and NuORDER
  • Automated pricing maintenance to avoid errors
  • A solution suited to a mid‑size business without long‑term consulting lock‑in

Herman Keuler, IT Manager, evaluated SAP’s own integration tools but found gaps. “I didn’t want to be tied to an ongoing consulting project,” he explained.

Grow online without data drift

NuORDER had to stay in sync with SAP Business One for orders, inventory, pricing, and customers, without long term consulting lock‑in.

All integrations in just 4 weeks

Flowgear delivered coverage for orders, inventory, pricing, and customer records with hourly automation and no manual steps.

The Solution

A Complete Project Delivered in Four Weeks

Leatt selected Flowgear after reviewing several options and confirming it offered the right mix of functionality, simplicity, and support. Flowgear’s Professional Services team assisted Leatt’s small IT group during rollout, but ongoing usage would remain under Leatt’s direct control.

Highlights:

  • All integrations completed in just four weeks
  • Coverage across order management, inventory control, pricing, and customer records
  • Hourly automation with no manual intervention
  • Flexible subscription model that avoids ongoing consulting fees

The Results

Reliable Integrations and More Time for Growth

Leatt achieved a smooth e‑commerce launch without manual processes slowing down operations.

Benefits include:

  • Automated data transfer gives confidence in the accuracy of orders and stock levels
  • IT and staff time freed up for value‑adding work instead of babysitting feeds
  • No dependency on time‑consuming, costly consultants
  • A modern integration platform to support future business requirements

Keuler called it a “very positive experience,” noting that the Flowgear platform not only works reliably today but provides the flexibility the company needs for tomorrow.

Accurate, hands off flows

Automated transfers keep orders and stock levels right, free up IT time, and avoid consultant dependency.

Extend the model

Leatt plans to apply the same hourly automations to new processes as growth continues.

Looking Ahead

More Time for Growth

With NuORDER live and integrated, Leatt can expand confidently. Future plans include extending Flowgear to new business process needs, using the same fast delivery model and hourly automations that proved successful in the first project.

Flowgear, the integration platform for digital agility, enables Leatt Corp to expand its business by integrating an e-commerce portal with its SAP Business One management software.Leatt Corp, an innovative designer, developer and distributor of personal protective gear for sports, is a success story in the sports protection gear industry. Starting as a personal project to protect motorcycle riders, the company has developed a range of award-winning protective products that are sold around the world. The company decided to grow sales by adding the NuORDER ecommerce portal to increase its reach in the North American online consumer market, and to provide a wholesale distribution capability to the business. Leatt uses the SAP Business One ERP system to manage many aspects of the business and needed to ensure that as soon as NuORDER went live they could automate the integration of data with Business One. They looked at various integration solutions, including some from SAP, and decided that the Flowgear integration platform was the best solution.

The evaluation process

Herman Keuler, IT manager for Leatt, initially approached SAP for an integration solution but could not find a Business One integration function that met his needs, and did not want to be tied to an ongoing consulting project. So he searched via Google for integration solutions that did not require a high level of technical skills, and which suited a mid-size company like Leatt. After evaluating a few solutions, the company selected the Flowgear integration platform because it had the required depth of functionality and offered the level of support needed.

The integration project

Using Flowgear, Leatt delivered on all their integration requirements in four weeks; including the main areas of order management, inventory control and updates, pricing maintenance, and customer management. These integrations are automated and run hourly. Keuler made use of Flowgear’s Professional Services team to supplement his IT team during the project, but after the project finished Leatt only pay for the integration capabilities they use – no ongoing technical or consulting service is required.

Integration benefits

Keuler commented that working with Flowgear was a “very positive experience.” Because Flowgear is a modern integration platform, there is now more confidence in the data integration capabilities they are using and will need in future. Flowgear has also opened up the scope for other business integration requirements. By automating the integration process, the business has been able to free up valuable resources to do other value-adding activities instead of administering data feeds and transfers.
