How Momentus Technologies built integration capability into its product offering.
Momentus Technologies is a SaaS provider used by more than 900 venues for online booking and venue management. The company needed a reliable way to connect its third-generation platform to the many external systems used by its customers, without diverting its core product team onto long integration projects.
Offer strong integrations without slowing core product work
CTO Rob Scott needed to increase integration capability while keeping the product team focused. The requirements were clear: integrations would be built by a specialized team separate from core development, custom code would be kept to a minimum, and the solution should not require significant infrastructure investment.
Scott evaluated ten vendors over several months, looking for a developer-friendly tool that allowed the team to start on a low budget and prove the concept before committing.
A pilot that grew into production, with the connectors the team actually needed
Flowgear met the criteria and was selected to pilot the integration approach. As the pilot progressed, Flowgear provided the additional connectors Momentus needed, Amazon S3 and Amazon SQS among them. The .NET-based platform also aligned with Momentus's own development stack, reducing friction. The integration team started with a proof of concept, resolved questions quickly with Flowgear's support, and extended into production workflows once patterns were established.
Today the team delivers integrations on behalf of clients, runs internal application integrations via the company's own API, and uses Amazon SQS for event-driven tasks and improved fault tolerance. Where needed, developers can still write custom code inside Flowgear's script node.
A dedicated integration team, and integration as a customer differentiator
Using Flowgear removed the problems associated with hand-built custom code and gave Momentus a clean operating model: a focused integration team separate from core product work. Integration capability has become a selling point for customers, including large convention centers.
- Dedicated integration team operates independently from core product development
- Built-in connectors reduce custom code across common integration scenarios
- Amazon SQS integration improves reliability and fault tolerance under load
- APIs built for internal power users enable safe self-service data access
- Integration capability is now a customer-facing differentiator
“Flowgear has given Momentus Technologies the ability to do a lot more than we could do before.”
Expanding the integration catalog with proven patterns
With proven patterns in place, Momentus Technologies can expand its catalog of customer integrations and internal automations, starting small on new initiatives, adding connectors as needed, and reusing workflows across venues and use cases.
