Customer Story
Core Group

How Core Group met a major supplier's strict API requirements without a custom build.

Core Group is a consumer technology retailer. To meet the service expectations of a major international consumer electronics supplier, the company needed to connect its SYSPRO ERP to the supplier's APIs. The integration brief was complex: the supplier had rigorous API requirements, and an out-of-the-box tool alone would not be sufficient.

The outcomeFlowgear became the API enabler that connected Core Group's SYSPRO ERP with its international consumer electronics supplier.
The challenge

Supplier API complexity ruled out off-the-shelf middleware

Core Group's CTO Roey Saban evaluated a custom bespoke solution and reviewed middleware options. Neither gave him confidence that the supplier's strict requirements, combined with SYSPRO's integration interface and the need for secure on-premise connectivity, could be met without a significant custom project.

The solution

Native SYSPRO connector, DropPoint, and hands-on delivery

Core Group selected Flowgear on the basis of its native SYSPRO connector, which supports the SYSPRO e.net Solutions interface, its library of application connectors, and DropPoint for secure on-premise connectivity. The software-as-a-service model also allowed the integration to be budgeted as an operational expense.

During delivery, Flowgear worked closely with Core Group to meet the supplier's requirements. As Saban put it, "We used Flowgear's in-house expertise in integrating enterprise software, and that meant that the SYSPRO ERP issues were well understood and the project was properly scoped." A product demonstration before commitment made the approach tangible for the team and helped build confidence in what could be delivered.

The result

Supplier integration live, and a broader roadmap now within reach

The first wave of integrations met the immediate business need. Complex supplier API requirements were satisfied within the SYSPRO context, and the visual workflow development gave stakeholders clearer visibility into what was running. With the core flows live, Core Group moved on to discuss further integration projects that had previously been deferred.

  • Supplier API requirements met within SYSPRO context
  • Avoided a custom bespoke integration project
  • DropPoint provided secure on-premise connectivity
  • Platform approach reduced ongoing custom code and maintenance burden
  • Foundation laid for additional integration projects

Flowgear has been an API enabler for Core Group, so we are now successfully integrating with our international supplier.
