How Maxidor eliminated manual order capture and let manufacturing start the moment a sale was made.
Maxidor is a safety and security solutions provider operating through a franchise dealer network. Field sales representatives visit customer locations to take orders that then need to reach the company's manufacturing process. Before Flowgear, a gap between mobile devices and the legacy on-premise order management system meant those orders sat in limbo until someone captured them manually.
Mobile devices could not reach the order system, so six people did it by hand
Maxidor's legacy on-premise order management system had no way to communicate with mobile devices in the field. Sales reps returned from customer visits unable to submit orders directly. Six dedicated employees captured and entered order information manually, a slow, error-prone process that frustrated customers and sales teams, and delayed manufacturing start times that should have begun immediately after a customer visit.
IT Manager Yasheen Partab described the situation plainly: "Prior to Flowgear, I was pulling my hair out. I did not know how to speed up our business processes. The database took too long and people were complaining about orders."
Cloud integration to on-premise, built without custom code
After evaluating multiple suppliers, Maxidor selected Flowgear. The key criteria: no additional on-premise infrastructure, no expensive custom software development, and a browser-based visual designer that a non-IT company could manage. Flowgear's DropPoint provided the secure connection between cloud-based integration and the legacy on-premise system, with data compression and built-in redundancy to maintain reliability even during connectivity disruptions.
Partab noted the significance of this for a business that was not an IT company: "It was an enormous benefit to be able to create a solution that perfectly fits our needs without having to do any technical coding or programming."
Orders flow from the field the moment a sale is made
With Flowgear in place, field sales representatives can submit orders directly from customer locations. Manufacturing no longer waits for manual transcription. The six-person manual capture operation was eliminated, and the process that previously depended on staff throughput now runs automatically.
- Field sales reps can submit orders directly from customer sites
- Six dedicated manual order-capture roles eliminated
- Manufacturing can start immediately after a customer visit
- No custom code or additional on-premise infrastructure required
- Secure mobile-to-back-office connectivity via DropPoint
“Prior to Flowgear, I was pulling my hair out. I did not know how to speed up our business processes. Here at Maxidor we are not an IT company, but we are tech savvy and so it was an enormous benefit to be able to create a solution that perfectly fits our needs without having to do any technical coding or programming.”
